1.  Plants cespitose and clumping, without stolons; leaves (5)8-16(23) mm wide, (15)30-70 cm long; inflorescence subequal to longer than the leaves, rarely shorter; peduncles 15-30 cm long; rachis 5-11 cm long, with 25-80 flower fascicles; outer bracts linear, 0.5 mm wide near apex, with abrupt, hyaline, ovate, wings borne basally, to 2 mm wide; style 1.5-2.5 mm long, subequal to shorter than stamens
